EVENT 7 - CIRCUIT GILLES VILLENEUVE
NAPA 100
MONTREAL, QUEBEC, AUGUST 2, 2008

The race takes place on the famous Formula 1 Circuit Gilles Villeneuve on August 2nd, 2008.

ASHLEY TAWS AT CIRCUIT GILLES VILLENEUVE

Ashley Taws is on of 32 racers entered in the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series (NCATS) NAPA 100. The race takes place at 10:20 AM EDT on Saturday August 2nd., before the afternoon NASCAR Nationwide race at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.

"I've adjusted pretty well to stock car racing, but I'm going to have another 200 horsepower to get used to in the (NASCAR Canadian Tire Series)."said Taws. "I have raced on the track before, so only the car will be new to me," Taws said. "I just want to take this as a learning process and not push everything to the limit. I don't expect to win the race. I want to do well, but this will be a learning event for me and my crew, who are new to stock cars, as well."

"I've watched all the (NCATS) races on television this year and there are a lot of high-profile drivers. I've seen how hard they race and how tight the competition is," she said. "I am a little nervous, but probably more excited than anything. I just want to learn the car and begin to earn respect among the drivers as a solid racer."

Rolf's Racing, as always, wishes Ashley well.

RANGER WINS NCATS IN MONTREAL

Andrew Ranger Montreal Podium 2008 Roxton Pond, Quebec driver Andrew Ranger, in the No. 22 Fitz Motorsports car, won the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series race at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal. Ranger took advantage of an error by JR Fitzpatrick, who had slipped in the Senna turn, at the very last lap of the 23 lap race to take the lead and get the victory from Scott Steckly.

"I haven't won a race here in a long time and to do it in front of my family and fans is really nice," said Ranger. "Last year I came close, so it's good to win it this year."

Series leader Scott Steckly of Milverton, Ont., came in second with last year's winner Kerry Micks of Mt. Albert, Ont. coming in third.

Alex Tagliani of Lachenaie, Que., who won in Edmonton last week, was out of the race after seven laps with a blown engine.

EVENT 5 - SUN VALLEY SPEEDWAY
A&W CRUISIN' THE DUB 300
VERNON BRITISH COLUMBIA, JULY 19, 2008

DON THOMPSON JR WINS AT VERNON BC

With just eight laps to go, Don Thomson Jr. passed points leader Scott Steckly in the A&W Cruisin' The Dub 300 at SunValley Speedway. This was Don Thomson's 1st. win of the season and his 3rd since the series was taken oner by NASCAR.
"We have been qualifying great all year, but it wasn't turning into good results for one reason or another," said the Ayr, Ontario driver. "Poles are nice, but we really wanted to get the win."
"It was just too loose to hold him off," were Steckly's comments. "I had to be careful going into the turns and wait to get on the gas. I was trying to make the car as wide as possible, but (Thomson) is too good for that."
There were 16 lead changes involving nine drivers and the race was slowed for caution nine times for 77 laps. Steckly still has a 111 point lead over Don Thomson Jr.

EVENT 2 - MOSPORT INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY
DICKIES 200 PRESENTED BY LUCAS OIL
BOWMANVILLE, ONTARIO JUNE 15, 2008

June 15, 2008/ The NASCAR Canadian Tire Series is coming to the road course at Mosport.
______________________________

The NASCAR Canadian Tire Series race started in optimum sunny and warm weather. It was great day for a race. After about 40 laps of the 51 lap race it started to sprinkle rain. Don Thompson Jr was the first to come into the pits for rain tires and lost a bit of track position. At about lap 47 mayhem happened, a huge downpour, almost every car spun out in various places on the track. Track positions kept changing constantly. Finally after a lengthy full course yellow, and many teams changing to rain tires the outcome below was decided by a green white checkered. We didn't mind getting wet ourselves with an exciting finish like that.
