ROUND 17 & 18, VALENCIA
SPAIN, SEPTEMBER 17 - 19, 2010
SEASON ENDER

RACE 1 GOES TO NICOLA DEMARCO AT VALENCIA

Nicola DeMarco had these comments after the race:

"It was a difficult race as the track was really hot, so after three or four laps the car felt difficult to drive for everybody, not just for me. Also it was hard not to make a mistake because Will was always near me throughout the race, and I did lock my tyres going into the last corner so I preferred to stay a little bit wide so I didn't make more mistakes.

"The end of the championship is very important to me for the points available and for my own morale, for the spectators and for my sponsors. I will try to get another pole position in qualifying two tomorrow and then aim for another win."

ROUND 15 & 16, OSCHERSLEBEN
GERMANY, SEPTEMBER 3 - 4, 2010

RACE 1 GOES TO DEAN STONEMAN AT OSCHERSLEBEN

Dean Stoneman had these comments after the race:

"If you see, the start was - I don't know what I done that was a bit special. Off the start I just managed to get no wheelspin, the car was just perfect off the line. Then going down to the first corner I only used one boost, and throughout the race I just kept being very consistent. I could see I was pulling away from second place, just edging away lap after lap, and I knew if I was consistent I could pull away. I didn't use any boost throughout the whole race, just kept it nice and smooth, changing different lines and trying different things throughout the race so hopefully if it's wet in qualifying we can go further.

"I was still pushing very hard, but I was just trying different things - I still had that little bit extra if I really needed it. I could have pushed maybe a couple of tenths more but it wasn't worth it as I was in the lead, so I knew I was comfortable.

"We didn't have a wet set up on, the car was obviously set up for the dry, but we just went out and did the best we could. In the championship, points are all we need at the minute.

"Every race we've done its been swapping about so Jolyon may take (the championship lead) back in the next race, but hopefully I can keep the lead."

ROUND 7 & 8, ZOLDA
BELGIUM, JUNE 18 - 20, 2010

DEAN STONEMAN WINS RACE 1 AT ZOLDA

Dean Stoneman took a polished victory in the opening race at Zolder, converting his second pole position of the year into his second win - closing the gap to championship leader Jolyon Palmer in the process.

"The car felt really good," Stoneman said. "I knew I was consistent in the race and I was able to keep my last six boosts for the final two laps, and I was able to set my fastest time on the very last lap. Hopefully I can carry on getting to the top of the podium but you never know what will happen in the next race."

JOLYON PALMER WINS BOTH RACES IN MONZA

Jolyon Palmer put the gloss on an already superb weekend by claiming his second victory, a clean sweep that also gives him the overall championship lead, here in Monza.

Palmer had been the man to beat for almost the entire weekend, having claimed pole position and then victory in the first race before taking another pole for race two. A good start helped him to maintain position and from there he never looked back, taking taking the race just under four seconds clear of Afanasiev in second.

ROUND 3 & 4, MARRAKECH
MOROCCO, APRIL 30 - MAY 2, 2010

DEAN STONEMAN WINS OPENING RACE IN MARRAKECH

Dean Stoneman has sealed his maiden F2 victory in a thrilling and chaotic first race on the streets of Marrakech, Morocco.

The pattern of the incident filled race began as early as the opening lap although all 21 cars made it through turn one without a problem. It wasn't long before drama struck however, as Jack Clarke and Nicola De Marco ran side by side into the first chicane. Clarke overshot on entry and both cars bumped across the run-off area before making contact as they rejoined the circuit. Johan Jokinen nipped around the outside of both of them as Clarke and De Marco were fired off into the barrier.

In a separate yet simultaneous incident, Benjamin Bailly also outbraked himself going into turn four and the Belgian racer took out the unfortunate Will Bratt. With cars lay stricken all over the circuit, the Race Director was left with no alternative but to bring out the safety car for the first time.

PHILIPP ENG WINS RACE 2 IN MARRAKECH

Philipp Eng recorded an extremely hard fought win in the second race at Marrakech, the Austrian withstanding heavy pressure from a charging Dean Stoneman to clinch his second victory of the year and extend his lead in the championship standings.

Stoneman, who has proved the class of the weekend, got a bad start from second and had to work his way back past Johan Jokinen before he was able to mount a race long pursuit of Eng. He closed several times but was unable to find a way through, despite some dramatic moments in the final few corners of the race.

Will Bratt inherited third after Jokinen suffered a collision with the barriers at the first chicane along the back straight, although the Briton made a great move on Kazim Vasiliauskas earlier in the race.

ROUND 1 & 2, SILVERSTONE
UNITED KINGDOM, APRIL 16 - 18, 2010

JOLYON PALMER TAKES RACE 1

Jolyon Palmer took a historic maiden win in Formula Two in the opening race of the season at Silverstone today, the Briton keeping a cool head to control the race from lights to flag.

"It's fantastic, all I could have hoped for really," said Jolyon. "I was under pressure at the start but managed to hold it off and get a small gap. Then I was just concentrating on saving my tyres for the last laps, not making any mistakes and trying to keep focused. I am really delighted with my first F2 win."

PHILIPP ENG WINS RACE 2 AT SILVERSTONE

Eng, who started from pole, enjoyed a solid start to carry his lead into the first corner and build a gap on the opening lap. He was soon pegged back, first by Dean Stoneman and later by Palmer, but he remained calm to seal victory.

"It was a very tough race," said Eng. "Jolyon was pushing very hard and for me it was like qualifying every single lap, because I was always trying to get the maximum out of the car. I would have liked to get a podium in the first race - anyway I won this race and fourth in the first race is a good effort."
