MASSA WINS RACE, HAMILTON GETS CHAMPIONSHIP IN BRAZIL
Going into the final lap at Interlagos Felipe Massa was set to be champion - he was leading, Lewis Hamilton was sixth. A late pass from the McLaren driver on Toyota's Timo Glock moved him to the fifth place he needed for the championship, and caused the smiles to turn to tears in the Ferrari garage.

HAMILTON TAKES 5TH WIN OF THE SEASON WITH VICTORY IN SHANGHAI
Lewis Hamilton's words:
"Everything just went right this weekend: our car has been simply phenomenal, I made one of my best-ever starts and had perfect balance during the race. I owe so much of that to the guys in the team - both at the track and back home; they did an amazing job so a big thanks to them. I've got a seven-point lead in the world championship, but that doesn't allow me to take anything for granted. It might be another step towards my dream but we've still got to stay calm and keep our heads. I just hope we can pull through."

POST RACE PRESS CONFERENCE WITH FERNANDO ALONSO
Q: Fernando, that was a great Grand Prix win, a fantastic start, lots of action in front of you at the first corner, let's talk about that, and then talk about that great race-defining second stint.
Fernando Alonso: Yeah, the start was probably the most exciting part of the race, for sure. I saw the people in front of me going quite aggressively into turn one. I myself locked the front tyres and I went a little bit wide. But I think it surprised us in a way as with the cold temperatures most of us started with the prime tyres and then we locked the tyres and everybody went long, so I took the benefit of that and I put myself behind Robert and from that point the race was a little bit easier. Then in the second stint we managed to have some free air, no one in front of us, the car was very nice to drive again and I was pulling a nice gap and maybe part of the victory was in the second stint.
Q: You took on less fuel in the first stop, so perhaps that was influential in how the car handled?
FA: Yeah, obviously we were P2 when we stopped for the first time, so I asked the team if we can manage to exit the pits in front of Robert because I wanted some free air in the second stint, so they had to give me less fuel to do that but the problem is you need to open a gap in the second stint. Sometimes you can do it, sometimes you can't but today the car was perfect and I was able to do it.
Q: I guess Robert got in front of you at the first corner when you locked up?
FA: Yeah, he went a little bit wide and then I saw the action in front me, everybody going straight, so I backed off a little bit and Robert overtook me. Then I was trying not to lose too much of a gap to Robert in the first stint and then control the race until the end as we did not know exactly how the soft tyres would perform in the last stint, so as many seconds as possible you need to be comfortable.

RACE 15 - 2008 FORMULA 1 SINGTEL SINGAPORE GRAND PRIX SINGAPORE, SEPTEMBER 28, 2008

FERNANDO ALONSO WINS SINGAPORE GRAND PRIX
The rains held off and the Singapore night was light up as bright as normal daylight, resulting in near perfect conditions for the first ever F1 race held after dark.
A yellow flag prompted by his team mate Nelson Piquet crashing out helped Renault's Fernando Alonso to an unexpected, but well-deserved, victory in Sunday's inaugural Singapore Grand Prix.
Williams Nico Rosberg took second, ahead of McLaren's Lewis Hamilton, whose main championship rival, Ferrari's Felipe Massa, failed to score after a dramatic refuelling incident.
With only 3 races left in the 2008 season, Lewis Hamilton leaves Singapore with a 7 point lead over his rival Felipe Massa.

SEBASTIAN VETTEL WINS ITALIAN GRAND PRIX
Sebastian Vettel, Toro Rosso (1st):
"A fantastic race, a fantastic weekend with pole as well and a fantastic strategy this afternoon. As for the podium ceremony it was unbelievable and this is the best day of my life. I will never forget these feelings. It is so unbelievable. It is better than I had ever expected. A big thank you to everyone in the team for their great work. After a poor start to the season, we got better and better. Maybe in today's conditions, we could close the gap with a bit more effort or by staying on the throttle a bit longer. I'm speechless. As for the race, we were very fast in a straight line because we didn't go for high downforce as we thought it might be dry, so we stayed on the dry level. Being out in front with no visibility problems was the key and I could build up a solid gap to Heikki straightaway. Then I was pushing very hard, maybe going over the limit sometimes and I nearly lost the car. In the last stint I was in a very good position on the intermediate tyre. I couldn't believe it when it kept saying "P1" on my board. But I kept my focus and kept pushing so as not to lose concentration. A perfect weekend."
____________
Heikki Kovalainen, McLaren (2nd):
"In today's tricky weather conditions I struggled to keep temperature in the brakes, and in the opening stages of the race I had problems with my extreme-wet tyres. First I thought it would improve after a few laps, but it didn't. Only at the end was I able to match the lap times of Sebastian Vettel in front of me. In today's conditions he was just too fast for me - congratulations to him for his very first grand prix win. I'm happy to have scored eight points, and I look forward to the next race in Singapore."
____________
Robert Kubica, BMW Sauber (3rd):
"I'm very happy to finish on the podium today! Yesterday qualifying was difficult when I was the first one not to make it into the top ten. The only advantage of this was I could choose my race strategy, and we decided to go for just one stop with a very long first stint. At the start the visibility was really bad. When the safety car went in after two laps, I overtook Nick (Heidfeld) before the first chicane without even seeing him. It was really dangerous. Then I was able to drive at my own pace, but towards the end of my first stint I was having problems with the tyres, obviously because the car had been very heavy. We were then lucky with our pit stop, because it was just the right time to change to intermediate tyres. From then on I was easily able to control my position on the track. Third place was a well deserved reward for the whole team. Congratulations to Sebastian and the Toro Rosso team for winning here today!"

RACE 13 - 2008 FORMULA 1 ING BELGIAN GRAND PRIX SPA-FRANCORCHAMPS, SEPTEMBER 7, 2008

HAMILTON TAKES BELGIAN GRAND PRIX
This will be remembered as one of the most exciting finishes of a Formula 1 Grand Prix Race ever.
With just 3 Laps to the end of the race, rain started to plague the drivers. What started as light rain, and a slight nuisance, changed to a heavy downpour in lap 42.
To take rain tires or not, this close to the finish, was to decide the race. Leaders Lewis Hamilton and Kimi Raikkonen and Sebastien Bourdais decided to carry on with dry's. Nick Heidfeld and Felipe Massa running in the back ten dicided to come in for intermediate tires. The gamble paid off for some, not for others. Lewis Hamilton won on dry tires and Kimi Raikkonen crashed into the wall in lap 43. Felipe Massa ended up 2nd, and Nick Heidfeld made podium in 3rd place. Sebastien Bourdais fell back to 7th.
Lewis Hamilton has an 8 point lead over Felipe Massa in the overall drivers standings.

MASSA INHERITS WIN AFTER HAMILTON PENALIZED
Ferrari's Felipe Massa has been declared the winner of Sunday's Belgian Grand Prix after McLaren' Lewis Hamilton was handed a 25-second time penalty following the race. Hamilton drops to third place as a result, with BMW Sauber's Nick Heidfeld moving up to second. Hamilton had crossed the finish line with a 14 second lead.
Lewis Hamilton was penalised after stewards decided he had gained an unfair advantage by cutting through the final chicane in his late race battle with Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen. McLaren can't appeal the decision since the infraction would have resulted in a last lap pit lane drive through.
Hamilton now only has a slim 2 point lead over Massa in the F1 Championship

FILIPPE MASSA TAKES WIN
Here are the top three drivers of the race with their comments:
Felipe Massa, Ferrari (1st):
"It's fantastic having won this race, especially after the disappointment of Budapest. The team did an amazing job in preparing for this Grand Prix and the benefits of that could be seen right from the very first day. Yesterday, I got pole and today the win, with the race fastest lap as the icing on the cake. You cannot ask for more especially at my one hundredth grand prix with every single one of them powered by a Ferrari engine. I got a good start and I pushed to the maximum right from the early laps. In the second part of the race, the car was exceptional, but also in the final stint, when I had the softer tyres, I could do the lap times easily. This is an important moment in my career and I must continue to work in this way. I am sorry for what happened to Kimi: we have to look very carefully at our reliability. I am confident the team knows which countermeasures to take to react to this issue, as it has always done in the past."
Lewis Hamilton, McLaren (2nd):
"I can't complain with second place today. This was a strong weekend for us despite my having a few problems health-wise, but we pulled through. The track was pretty difficult to overtake on, but I maintained the gap - our lap times showed that our overall pace was good, which was encouraging. Heikki (Kovalainen) and I scored 13 points today, which is very positive for the team, so I' d describe it as a satisfactory weekend for us."
Robert Kubica, BMW Sauber (3rd):
"I started pretty well but in corner one I went over the kerb and Lewis was closing. In the second corner I was going to overtake Lewis, but I saw Felipe braking quite early. It would have been too much of a risk, as I could end up overshooting the braking point and crashing into him. Over the next few laps I was consistently a bit slower than Lewis. Suddenly I saw a white plastic bag flying across the track, but could not avoid it and it went under the car. I couldn't steer for two corners, which was extremely dangerous. Fortunately most of the bag soon flew away, but my confidence was very low over the next sector, and I lost around three seconds. In the end I finished third. Eventually I think my good qualifying result yesterday was crucial for today's result."

Heikki Kovalainen was fastest in Friday's 2nd practice. Kovalainen's McLaren posted a 1m 19.989s. Here is his thoughts after practice "We seemed to find a nice balance almost immediately and waited for the track to come to us throughout both sessions. The trick here is to balance the set-up between the high and slow-speed corners and I feel that we're getting closer to achieving that. We shouldn't get carried away with being fastest on Friday afternoon, but we've got a good basis for Sunday."

LEWIS HAMILTON TAKES WIN IN RAIN

McLaren's Lewis Hamilton has retaken the lead of the drivers' championship after a stunning win on his home track in a very wet British Grand Prix. He finished over a minute ahead of BMW Sauber's Nick Heidfeld. Rubens Barrichello came in third to get Honda's first podium since 2006.
Hamilton lapped all but two cars in the field this Sunday and finished more than a minute ahead of Nick Heidfeld in a race that was full of spinouts and near misses.
Lewis Hamilton now shares 1st pace in the overall drivers standings with Kimi Raikkonen and Felipe Massa at 48 points each.

RACE 7 - MONTREAL, CANADA, JUNE 8, 2008
THE F1 CARS ARE COMING TO CANADA
It's good to have the Formula 1 Series back in Canada. Of all the drivers on the F1 circuit Nick Heidfeld of BMW Sauber
expresses it best.
"Last year's Canadian Grand Prix was a very special race for me. We put in a very strong showing in 2007. I came third in qualifying and finished second in the race on my own merit. Initially that result was obviously overshadowed by Robert's (Kubica) accident. Only when we knew he was okay were we able to celebrate. Of course I'm very much hoping I'll do well in qualifying this time. I'm working with the engineers to get the tyres back fast enough into the temperature zone where they really build up grip. At any rate, the Montreal race is one of my favourites. I love the city, the atmosphere and the race track. It's a very fast course and features mainly chicanes and straights. We drive with relatively low downforce and the brakes come in for a great deal of punishment."

HAMILTON WINS WET - DRY MONACO RACE
Lewis Hamilton's post race press conference words were these. "I was able to get a good start and felt comfortable at the beginning. I knew that I had a good car underneath me and I knew that I would be able to challenge Felipe at some point. I could not really see anything, so I just stayed in second because there was so much spray, so you can't see if it is raining more or less. Through turn 12, Tabac, there was a sort of river coming through and as I was catching Felipe I hit this river and just oversteered and just slid across into the barrier. I couldn' t believe it and I knew I had only just touched it and I had a rear puncture and fortunately I was able to tell the team quickly and they were able to react as quickly as possible and get out. They did a fantastic job and without them I wouldn't have been able to do it today."
A job well done on a wet track.

SUPER AGURI REFUSED ISTANBUL PADDOCK ACCESS
May 4, 2008/ The struggling Super Aguri team has been denied access to the Turkish Grand Prix circuit. A deal for a buyout by Magma Group of the United Kingdom fell through and an offer of purchase by the Weigl Group wasn't sweet enough for Honda to take serious. Honda, which is owed aproximately $100 million by Super Aguri has aparently shut the door and cut of the teams' funding, effectivly closing their operation. Stay tuned for further developments.

SUPER AGURI F1 TEAM ANNOUNCEMENT
May 6, 2008/ Super Aguri Formula One Team has today announced its withdrawal from the 2008 FIA Formula One World Championship.
Participating in Formula One since the 2006 season, the Team, which scored its first championship points after only 22 races (Spanish Grand Prix, 2007) and finished ninth overall in the 2007 Constructors' Championship, will cease all activities as of 6th May 2008.
Aguri Suzuki, Team Principal, SUPER AGURI F1 TEAM
"In order to realize my dream to become an owner of a Formula One Team, I applied for a grid position in the FIA Formula One World Championship in November 2005. Since then, I have participated in the championship for 2 years and 4 months as the SUPER AGURI F1 TEAM, but regretfully I must inform you that the team will be ceasing its racing activities as of today.
The team has competed against the many car manufacturer backed teams and has succeeded in obtaining the first points after only the 22nd race finishing in 9th place overall in the 2007 Constructors' Championship. However, the breach of contract by the promised partner SS United Group Company Limited resulted in the loss of financial backing and immediately put the team into financial difficulties. Also, the change in direction of the environment surrounding the team, in terms of the use of customer chassis, has affected our ability to find partners.
Meanwhile, with the help of Honda, we have somehow managed to keep the team going, but we find it difficult to establish a way to continue the activities in the future within the environment surrounding F1 and as a result, I have concluded to withdraw from the Championship.
I would like to express my deepest thanks to Honda, Bridgestone, the sponsors, all the people who have given us advise during various situations over the past couple of years all the Team Staff who have kept their motivations high and always done their best, Anthony Davidson who has always pushed to the limit despite the very difficult conditions, Takuma Sato who has been with us from the very start and has always fought hard and led the team and lastly our fans from all over the world who have loyally supported the SUPER AGURI F1 TEAM."
