(September 18 - 19, 2010)

MOSPORT INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY

GT-1 - GT-3 Race #291 Andrew Romocki, Panoz Esperante We can't believe how the Summer of 2010 is shaping up. It's mid September and the sun is out, temperatures in the 20's, and the best racing in Ontario.

Saturday morning after our mandatory stop at the Mosport Restaurant we head to the inside of corner 3, one of the best vantage points at Mosport International Raceway, to see practices and Qualifying for the BEMC Indian Summer Trophy Races.

Then off to the paddock and then to corner 1 were we settle in for lunch and the afternoon races.

GT-1 - GT-6 Practice Saturday The first race is the combined GT1 to GT6 race, followed by the Formula Libres, and the Ontario Formula Ford Championship.

Saturday's main event follows - the BEMC Indian Summer Enduro - Gt Challenge Race.

40 cars started the race, with approximately 26 left at the end of the 3 Hours. It was an exciting race with many lead changes in the 6 different classes running. There were many pit violations, and a few cautions thrown in.

In the end Nigel Krikorian walked away with the Totem Pole Trophy.

Enduro - GT Challenge #67 Nicholas Krikorian, #87 John Lockhart/Bob Attrell /Sasha Anis Sunday is still a perfect day, possibly even nicer than Saturday.

We start the day at corner 9, later move to corner 5, and end up at corner 1 again. The great part of Mosport is that the best viewing spots are easily accessible.

Great times, great racing, see everyone in 2 weeks for the Motorsport Celebration.

2010 ALMS - GRAND PRIX OF MOSPORT
(August 26 - 29, 2010)

MOSPORT INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY

ALMS #8 - Drayson Racing Lola B09/60
8 Lola B09/60 It's Thursday morning, the time - 7:15 AM, the place Mosport international Raceway. The sun is shining, and the anticipation great.

On arrival we are greeted by Mosport security and informed of the entry procedure - which after last years fiasco - was very well planned and executed. Many thanks to the dedicated Mosport staff for their great orginizational skills.

Setting up camp at corner 8, we take many breaks to check out Test Day action on the track. Today we see the Star Mazda Championship, Cooper Tire Prototype Lites, Playboy MX-5 Cup and the Castrol Canadian Touring car Championship practices.

As usual our day light hours end with the Track Walk.

Brian Byrns on Action Zone Concert Stage Friday we get more practices by the support series cars, and the first appearance of the American Le mans series on the track.

We also take in the paddock and check out the Action Zone. This year to get a stronger festival atmosphere there are afternoon and evening concerts in the paddock area.

As well, the Action Zone Clubhouse has several historic Race Cars on display by the likes of Ron Fellows, Eppie Wietzes, Ludwig Heimrath Sr, Craig Hill, Horst Kroll and Ross de St. Croix.

Ron Fellows Camaro in Action Zone Saturday it's down to some serious qualifying and racing. After dinner there is the Mosport Speedway, admission is included in the ticket price. In addition to the regular series, the Open Wheeled Modifieds pay a visit to the 1/2 mile oval.

On Sunday it's race day. We have a total of 4 races today with the last one being the 2.75 hour American Le Mans race. Before the race there is the much anticipated ALMS autograph session were the fans get to meet and talk to all the drivers.

The Alms race had to be stopped after 2 hours due to Luke Hines (#48 Orbit Racing Porsche 911 GT3 Cup) taking out several sections of Guard Rail near turn 7.

We stay one more night and pack up Monday morning. Overall, of the 10 times we have been at Mosport for the ALMS, this weekend ranks amongst the best.

2010 BARC CANADIAN TOURING TROPHY RACES
(August 7 - 8, 2010)

MOSPORT SATURDAY, SUNDAY - AUGUST 7 - 8, 2010

G70+ #40 Markus Glarner, BMW M1 Saturday - a great looking day. We get to the paddock in time for the start of practices at 9:00 AM. After our stop at the Mosport restaurant and taking a close look at Markus Glarner's BMW M1, we head to the outside of corner 3 to start our day.

From there we headed down to corner 5, which always has great vantage points for viewing, Then to corner 9 for a while and to corner 1 for lunch and more qualifying and the start of the weekends races.

The great day continued and were off to the inside of corner 3, where we catch more racing close up.

GT Sprints entering Corner 5 The highlight of the day ended up being the GT Challenge race. With the excellent track conditions and 6 racing classes, there were position battles all over the field. This was the best racing we have seen all year - and that includes the Honda Indy.

GT Sprints - GT 4,5,6 Race What's a Mosport weekend without rain? Sunday the rain started just in time for the first cars to go to the track. The rain, at times heavy never let off all day. We spent most of Sunday watching the races from inside the van. The lap times slowed considerably but luckily there were no major mishaps.

Thanks to all that participated, racers, workers, and volunteers for another great weekend.

HONDA INDY TORONTO
(July 16 - 18, 2010)

TORONTO FRIDAY JULY 16, 2010

Toronto IndyCar Pit The forcast calls for a hot and sunny weekend!!

This is our first time back for the Honda Indy since CART ran the show. After seeing last years non-event schedule we decided to pass.

This year with great support racing on the track we looked forward to being here. Besides the IndyCar series we have the Castrol Canadian Touring Car Championship, the SCCS World Challenge, the SCCA Trans-Am Series, the NASCAR Canadian tire Series, and the Indy Lights taking part in the racing.

Arriving at Exhibition Place first AM, the weather is great, and we are treated to a full day of practices and some qualifying. During the day we slip away from the stands a few times to check out all the paddocks where we come up close to all the machines and many of the drivers.

The track closes at 6:30 PM and we had an excellent day.

TORONTO SATURDY JULY 17, 2010

NCATS #66 Robin Buck Another great day - sunny and hot. We get our first 3 races of the weekend.

The first race is the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series. The NCAT's fielded 31 cars with great battles throughout the field. Andrew Ranger in his Dodge Dealers of Quebec machine again showed that he is poised to become Canada's best stock car driver.

Next up was the SCCA World Challenge Cars with Randy Pobst taking the GS class, Peter Cunningham winning GTS, and Canadian Nick Wittmer topping the TC class.

The final race of the day, the Castrol Canadian Touring Car Championship, just 20 minutes after the SCCA WC, was also won by Nick Wittmer in the Super Touring Class. The Touring class was won by Tom Kwok.

TORONTO SUNDAY JULY 18, 2010

IndyCar #37 Ryan Hunter-Reay Can't believe this great weather after some of the past wet weekends this year.

Another full race day, staring off with the second CCTCC race. This time the battle between Nick Wittmer and Sasha Anis was won by Sasha.

After a short brake the Firestone Indy Lights had their race. J.K. Vernay won that one after Canadian James Hinchcliffe had a bit of bad luck.

On to the main event, the Honda Indy Toronto IZOD IndyCar race. A well attended race with 26 cars starting. After numerous cautions and contacts - over half the field with involved in at least one spin or contact - Will Power prevailed. Canadians Paul Tracy who led 15 laps finished 13th, and Alex Tagliani came in 17th.

The final race of the weekend saw the SCCA Trans-Am series come to the track. RJ Lopez won in his Chevrolet Corvette. Local Canadian driver had to retire half way through the race due to a driveshaft problem.

Over all the week end was a success. We will definitely be back next year. Congratulation to Michael Andretti for bringing quality racing back to the streets of Toronto

All this during a perfect warm and sunny Spring day. This will change as the Mosport weather turns ugly late Friday night.

MOSPORT SATURDAY JUNE 12, 2010

After a heavy, noisy rainy night we wake up to ankle deep puddles on camp site. The rain would be with us on and off all day.

NCATS #01 Caitlin Johnston The first races of the weekend were held with a steady drizzle keeping the track slick and testing the skills of the drivers. The qualifying for the Vortex Brake 200 was cancelled and will be run on Sunday.

F2000 #21 Remy Audette In Canada's top stock car Series, Cambridge native J.R. Fitzpatrick returned to Mosport to take the checker flag in the Vortex Brake Pads 200 in dominating fashion. Fitzpatrick, who started in second after qualifying, was able to overtake his Mosport rival and pole sitter Andrew Ranger of Roxton Pond, QC on lap five. Ranger, the 2009 Series Champion, broke his own qualifying record with a time of 1:24.041. In the four Canadian Tire Series races held on the famed 4 km track, Fitzpatrick and Ranger have now won two apiece.

59th ANNUAL SPRING TROPHY RACES
(May 9 - 10, 2010)

MOSPORT SATURDAY MAY 9, 2010

#64 GT-5 Nelson Monteiro What do you get after 2 days of rain?......MONDAY!!

This weekend started with rain, fog and cold. By saturday afternoon Mother Nature threw some snow into the mix. We hope this isn't going to be a replay of last years' Mosport experiences.

Ontario Formula Libre #52 Nick Majors Weather aside, the opening of race season at Mosport International Raceway is always a welcome time.

Corner 1 at Mosport International Raceway After some hot chocolate from the Mosport restaurant we ventured to corner 3 to catch some of the morning practices. We were sorry to see Nelson Monteiro go off track so early.

Then we settled down at the outside of corner 9 for more practices and qualifying. The sun peeked out for about 30 minutes. With the track still wet many drivers had a tough time keeping their cars on the track.

This was our 1st glimpse at Nick Majors new Elan DP02 IMSA Prototype Lite. He should be able to dominate the Formula Libre class with his new ride.

For lunch and the remainder of saturday we stayed at to front straight to see the races from near the start finish line.

We felt for the corner and event workers having to endure the constant rain and high winds during the day. In the end it made for a great race day.

Unfortunately we were unable to return on sunday - we spent the day with our mothers.

Thanks to BEMC, CASC, Mosport, Glenn Butt, all the race teams, and volunteers for again putting on Canada's best racing.
