ROBERT WICKENS TO WORLD SERIES BY RENAULT FOR 2008
December 20, 2007/ It was announced today that Canadian Robert Wickens will be competing in the World Series by Renault for the 2008 season. The Red Bull Junior driver will be part of a two-car Red Bull effort with Carlin Motorsport based in Aldershot, England. Robert ran the final two World Series by Renault races of the 2007 schedule at Estoril, Portugal and Barcelona, Spain with Carlin.
ALLEN MCNISH PRESIDENT OF SCOTTISH MOTOR RACING CLUB
Dec 17 2007/ Allan McNish was named the new president of the Scottish Motor Racing Club, succeeding triple Formula One World Champion Sir Jackie Stewart. McNish will continue driving the No. 1 Audi R10 TDI for the 2008 American Le Mans Series and the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
NOVOTNY TO BE INDUCTED INTO CANADIAN MOTORSPORT HALL OF FAME
Dec 5 2007/ Tony Novotny, the CASCAR founder will be inducted into the Canadian Motorsport Hall of Fame on February 23 2008. Novotny founded CASCAR in 1981, made it the success it has become, and took it to the next level, the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series (NCATS).
ALMS MONTEREY SPORTS CAR CHAMPIONSHIPS
Oct 18-20 / Monterey, CA.. Audi Sport North America LMP1 Audi R10 TDI driven by Dindo Capello+ Allan McNish won the race and overall ALMS title today. The LMP2 winner was the Penske Racing Porsche RS Spyder driven by Timo Bernhard and Romain Dumas, they also got the overall class win. The GT1 win went to Olivier Beretta and Oliver Gavin in the Corvette Racing Corvette C6.R and so did the class win. The GT2 winner was the Risi Competizioni
Ferrari F430 GT driven by Mika Salo and Jaime Melo, they also got their overall class win in the ALMS. Congratulations to all teams that took part in the ALMS and hope to see you in 2008.
CELEBRATION OF MOTORSPORT AT MOSPORT
On Sept 29+ 30 2007 CASC presented the Celebration of Motorsport at Mosport International Raceway featuring the OFFC CanAM Cup. We were at that event, please see our writeup in the Events page and our pictures on the Images page.
NASCAR CANADIAN TIRE SERIES
On Sept 23 2007 the NASCAR CANADIAN TIRE SERIES presented by SIRIUS SATELLITE RADIO-Dodge Charger 250 was run at Kawartha Speedway Fraserville, Ontario. The top 3 finishers were:
1. #6 Scott Steckly, Milverton, Ontario, Dodge
2. #19 Peter Gibbons, Stouffville, Ontario, Chevrolet
3. #8 Ron Beauchamp, Jr., Windsor, Ontario, Dodge
This, the last race of the season saw Andrew Ranger in the #27 Wal-Mart/Tide Ford take the overall title. This earns Ranger a guaranteed starting position in the NASCAR Toyota All-Star Showdown at Irwindale, California Speedway on October 19-20. The event will be telecast live on SPEED. Congratulations to all.

Barrie Speedway ATTO 300 on saturday Sept 8th 2007.
Second place went to Dave Whitlock in the #39 Dickies/Hamilton Tiger-Cats Dodge, and 3rd went to #4 Home Hardware Chevrolet driver

Here are the results from the Netherland's Champ Car World Series race in Assen. The top 3 drivers at the Bavaria Champ Car Grand prix Sunday Sept 2 2007 were:
#9 Justin Wilson, #19 Jan Heylen and #19 Bruno Junqueira.
Alex Tagliani came in 15th and Paul Tracy came in 17th after retiring with mechanical troubles at lap 14.

The ALMS DETROIT BELLE ISLE GRAND PRIX took place Sept 1 2007 with the Penske Porsches taking another overall win with a P2 car.The three top overall finishers were:

NASCAR BUSCH SERIES
NASCAR's inaugural Busch Series race in Canada, the The Aug 4th NAPA Auto Parts 200 at Montreal's Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, came to a controversial finish that has many believing that Robby Gordon should have lead the final lap. As it was, Kevin Harvick was given the win. Here are the finishing orders of our Canadian contingient. Patrick Carpentier 2nd, Ron Fellows 4th, John Graham 23rd, Mike MacKenzie 33rd, Michael Valiante 34th, Trevor Boys 35th, D.J. Kennington 37th and J.R. Fitzpatrick 43rd.
CASTROL CANADIAN TOURING CAR CHAMPIONSHIP
Calabogie Motorsports Park July 28 and 29 2007 hosted 2 CCTCC races this weekend. Race 1 in the GT class we had #14 Sasha Anis, #115 Marco Cirone and #117 Kurt Langeveldt at the front. The Super Touring winner was the #45 car of Nicol and Lejbjuk, with #239 Andre Rapone winning the Touring class. Race 2 had #115 Marco Cirone+ Roberto Sabato, #14 Sasha Anis and #52 Nick Majors+ T. Mcgrath take the GT class. #26 Charles-Andre Bilodeau lead the Super Touring and #191 James Foote won the Touring class.
ONTARIO FORMULA FORD CHALLENGE
Calabogie Motorsports Park July 28 and 29 2007 saw 2 OFFC races on the weekend. The race #1 "A" group winners were #2 Kyle Marcelli, #52 Dean Baker and #05 Matt White. The "B" group winners were #83 Rodney Kendall, #96 Lew MacKenzie and #40 Tony cove.Race #2 "A" group winners were #05 Matt White, #52 Dean Baker and #2 Kyle Macelli. For the "B" group we saw #83 Rodney Kendall, #96 Lew MacKenzie and #40 Tony Cove take the podium.
ONTARIO GT SPRINTS
Calabogie Motorsports Park July 28 and 29 2007 had 3 GT races with #84 Mike Boedrukker winning the 1st 2 races and #184 Bruce Gregory comming in 1st for the last race.
CHAMP CAR WORLD SERIES
The top 3 drivers on the Edmonton Street Circuit were #1 Sebastien Bourdais, #9 Justin Wilson and # 2 Graham Rahal. Paul Tracy came in 5th and Alex Tagliani finished 14th.
CHAMP CAR ATLANTIC SERIES
The July 22 Race #2 in Edmonton saw # 6 Raphael Matos, #23 Jonathan Bomarito and
#11 Franck Perera get the top 3 spots. Robert Wickens made 11th and
Frankie Muniz came in 16th.
AMERICAN LeMANS SERIES
ALMS race results from Mid-Ohio for July 21 2007. The P2 class takes 1st and 2nd overall at Mid-Ohio.
The #7 and #6 RS Spyders of Penske Racing claimed the 1st and 2nd place
spots. Congratulations to the #7 team of Dumas and
Bernard, and the #6 team of Maassen and Briscoe. Third place overall
went to the P1 entry of Audi Sport North America,s #2 Audi R10 driven by Pirro and Werner.
NASCAR CANADIAN TIRE SERIES
Andrew Ranger who had the pole position at the Rexall Grand Prix Edmonton race and led the first 31 laps was past by J.R. Fitzpatrick in lap 32, the final lap, to take 2nd place.
CHAMP CAR ATLANTIC SERIES
July 21 race #1 of the week end: the top 3 finishers were Raphael Matos, Franck Perera and James Hinchcliffe. Robert Wickens came in 4th and Frankie Muniz came in 17th. Race #2 will take place on July 22.
NASCAR CANADIAN TIRE SERIES
The BC Dodge Dealers Dodge Avenger 300 from Sun Valley Speedway
Vernon, British Columbia top 3 finishers were: J.R. Fitzpatrick,
Scott Steckly and Peter Gibbons. (Andrew Ranger finished 9th)
ASHLEY TAWS
The Super Touring touring car of Jordan Marrison and Ashley Taws finished a respectable 6th at the Toronto Grand Prix CCTCC - Race 2. Well done for a 1st year teem.
RON FELLOWS
Congratulations to Randy Pobst for his win at the Steelback Toronto Grand Prix, and a job well done to Ron Fellows 2nd place finish. Michael Galati came in 3rd.
ASHLEY TAWS
Ashley Taws and Jordan Marrison take the Barbie at Wal*Mart Super Touring Car to the road circuit of the Steelback Grand Prix of Toronto to race on the lakefront street circuit July 6-8.
RON FELLOWS
Congratulations to Ron Fellows for finishing 15th at the Infineon Raceway at Sonoma, California June 24th. Not a bad finish in an unfamiliar Nascar Cup Car of Tomorrow. On Sunday July 8th Ron will be driving a third Cadillac CTS- V in the 6th round of the SCCA SPEED World Challenge GT in Toronto as part of the STEELBACK GRAND PRIX weekend.

This series runs at the Grand Prix of Ontario Jun. 29 - July 1 as well. These are open wheel racers from many classes running together. This guaranties a lot of passing!!
